Apple hires engineers to work on Fake projects.

Imagine you get hired to do your dream job, solve problems for a billion dollar company. They hire you , and give you a project with 4 other people of your capabilities, and for 9 long months you identify how to make things work that the world has never seen. You invest your blood sweat and tears into this, your life's work, then they take you all into a room and tell you that Billy, the 3rd guy in your team, has been leaking the project to media, and the rest of you passed the test. Then the boss walks over to your work, hits the dump button, and says good job on all this, but it was all fake, a test. He then walks you over to the real projects.

  1. Have you posted this before or did I read it on another blog? Who knows? I can't remember. Anyway, if it were me, I think I'd kick the ass of the person giving the tests.

  2. I blame the mole. One mole is costing not just the company but breaking the good relationship and trust between the employer and employees.
In my experience I did have to work on some projects which never made to production but guess what you always have the option of recycling and the experience comes in handy.

  3. sneaky...but quite clever as well. I suppose they can afford to just speculate in this way.

  4. As long as the checks they write continue to be real I would sink my teeth into the real assignment.
