Apple hires engineers to work on Fake projects.

Imagine you get hired to do your dream job, solve problems for a billion dollar company. They hire you , and give you a project with 4 other people of your capabilities, and for 9 long months you identify how to make things work that the world has never seen. You invest your blood sweat and tears into this, your life's work, then they take you all into a room and tell you that Billy, the 3rd guy in your team, has been leaking the project to media, and the rest of you passed the test. Then the boss walks over to your work, hits the dump button, and says good job on all this, but it was all fake, a test. He then walks you over to the real projects.

Electricity Usage Monitors

Any idea how much power your home is using? Nay, not your home, but your everyday things , like your phone charger, computer, electric shaver, florescent light vs traditional light bulbs? I sure have! For that reason I have done some research that would apply to this area of life. There are a few products out there that you can test anything you want to see how much it is costing you! They are called electricity usage monitors! So kick PG&E in the rear and get one!

These products will tell you how much power something is using and break it down to money and watts per hour/month/year.

Of all the different variations out there I have narrowed it down to 2  ! I will not list them in order of best to worst or anything like that because they are both great in their own way but are better suited for different situations. For example a fishnet tee-shirt would be great for a gay pride parade, but if your trying to avoid a sun burn its not really the best choice.

The P3 Kill A Watt : Not only does it have a super fancy name, but it also has a plethora of different ways to display the data collected, and in general is the more useful of the bunch. The best feature is the battery backup so you can unplug it from the wall and read the info with it in your hand , not on the wall. My personal choice.

The Belkin Conserve Insight: A very simple design with a break down of price per month/year to run the item, total consumed watts, and how much CO2 is produced  by the item no matter the source of the power be it natural gas, coal or solar panels on your roof ( which would be 0, so it is not very accurate)
-Also the read out comes on a 6 foot long chord for ease of reading display. Big plus!

Now, after using your fancy new gadgets to figure out what is costing you the most on your monthly bill you should get a SECOND one and plug it into the first to find how much power it is using to find out how much power is being used. OR just don't worry about that and go get a smart power strip and plug in the power hungry items.

Rage against the power company!

Lost dog!

Have you ever lost your best friend? As it so happens my neighbor did.
This is a really sad situation, I would see her (my neighbor that is) walking her dog almost every single day. They loved each other! I was so sad to see this happen! She put up a huge sign on her back fence when the dog went missing, this sign has since been moved to one of the major intersections in town, so everybody will be seeing it.
The area I live is pretty big, it take a while for the dog to even wander outside of the housing area, but is very possible, but the fact that it did is very sad.

This lady loved her dog very much, she even put up a great reward for it, and put up smaller signs all over town in about a 1 mile radius.

I guess I don't really have to say this, but if you have seen this pooch around, please call the number in the photo and let the owner know. It would mean the world to her.

Thanks guys!

Faces In Places

I know I'm a little behind on the times, but I have always seen these around, and never got to share them with others. So here is my FACES IN PLACES!

I was at Ross with my girlfriend and we passed through the bathroom stuff . I have always seen these things and thought they looked just like SUPER HAPPY faces. haha. But I never had a camera around when I looking at them! this time it was different. I got more then one of these things on record as being FACES IN PLACES! lol.

So the first one is just a brass looking one, probably my choice for a toothbrush holder, or at least of what they had in their selection.

Next was a funny one. Nice green with a jungle look to it. I might pick this to take up residence in my home, but probably not.

Then lastly, my favorite, one with an alien  happy face. This one made me smile and actually take the time to take the pictures for my wonderful readers! lol. This last toothbrush holder is a lovely blue, but still , looks like something I could make in my Ceramics class in college. But not too bad. But still, the three eyes is funny.

OK, thanks for reading everybody! I hope the faces in places made you smile. I know they always get me!

Come back soon for more of my silly life as it happens!
